BOYLE PARK REMODEL
This 1920’s vintage Tudoresque Revival residence, located in the Boyle Park neighborhood of Mill Valley, had good bones but suffered from a series of poorly thought out remodels and an awkward floor plan that belied the home’s apparent size.
While the exterior aesthetic was merely freshened up, the interior was comprehensively remodeled. The building envelope was insulated, new windows and doors fitted, new heating, plumbing and electrical systems installed, and the structure was reinforced to current seismic codes.
A re-organized floor plan including a new master suite, a contemporary kitchen with custom cabinetry, and a family room carved out of the existing crawl space, created a residence that accommodates a modern lifestyle while residing comfortably in its neighborhood’s traditional vernacular.
